I created this blog to post updates about our (me and my family's) journey with God as we walk through the process of fighting cancer. My Mom (Noreta Bowers) was diagnosed with gall bladder cancer on August 5, 2010. She is 71 years old and I want to "be just like her when I grow up." My nerves and emotions are raw but I have a close circle of family and friends that I know want to keep up with how my Mom is doing. This blog should do the trick.

2nd Scan
Mom had her second scan last week. The doctor called her on Monday to let her know that this scan showed more spots in her abdomen. The status right now is the doctor is going to put Mom on a stronger chemo and consult with some more doctors about Mom's case. Although this news is not what we were hoping to hear, God is still in control. Our family is trusting Him. Mom was supposed to be taking 2 types of chemo from the beginning but her blood count was never up to what it needed to be in order for her to take both sessions. We are all looking for all the blessings she has seen so far and that is our focus. She has been eating good, active, and feeling no pain. Blessing after blessing has been poured down on her. Mom's attitude about the whole thing was this is a little bit of a step back but let's start moving forward again. She goes back to the doctor tomorrow and we pray her blood count and fluids are such that she can start the new chemo. We know that stronger means maybe sicker so pray about that especially.
